Natural Remedies to Relieve Menstrual Cramps Period
Pain
Menstrual Cramps are something that all women must endure and men do not understand. Some women's period pain is very intense and while others, painful as it is, are more tolerant to the pain and cramps that visit once each month. On this page we discuss home treatments that can help lessen the discomfort associated with menstrual pain.
If extreme pain is experienced during the menstrual period, you should consult your doctor and have an examination to ensure there is no infection.

Home Remedy Menstrual Cramps Period Pain
Use
Heat Packs As Home Remedy
Heat packs, hot water bottles, warm towels and hot baths are great to
relieve the tension and pain associated with the menstrual period. Place
heat packs or warm towels on your belly. Warm baths help to relax the
stomach muscles.
Walking
Being fit and healthy can help relieve period pain as can exercise.
Brisk walking relaxes the muscles in the pelvic area and improves circulation.
Try to walk relaxed with arms and hips swing rhythmically. Regular exercise
each day will increase fitness and aid in times when menstrual cramps
visit.
Yoga and Stretching Exercises
Curling up into a ball and then using stretching exercises are great
to relieve cramps. Try to get your chest onto your thighs when curling
and wrap you arms around your thighs. Breathe in as you curl and exhale
when releasing the pose. Stretching by raising your left arm above your
head and stretching to the right, then repeating this movement with
the opposite arm stretches the hip bone away from the pelvis and helps
to relieve menstrual cramps.
Drink Herbal Tea
Hot herbal tea helps relieve cramps and allows you to function somewhere
near normal. Ginger tea, oregano tea and gingerroot tea are all touted
as great pain relievers during periods.
Evening Primrose Oil
Evening primrose oil works best if you take it every day - even when
you don't have your period. It takes about two months to start working.
Evening Primrose Oil certainly helps many women and also relieves the
painful breasts.
Eat Healthy Foods
Foods full of vitamins and minerals are great just before and during
the menstrual cycle. Bananas, Broccoli, whole grain bread, herbal tea
and dried fruit are all great contributors of essential miners needed
in your diet. Stay away from sweet foods, chocolate and coffee.
(The above home treatments may or may not work on individual people and should not be relied upon as an absolute cure. Always consult your family doctor when pain persists.)
