Home Remedy for Bladder Infections
Bladder
infections in women are usually caused by a number of things such as bad toilet habits (incorrect
front to back wiping), sex, soap, talcum power, washing power, fragrant
toilet paper and other outside influences that cause bacteria to cling
to the urinary tract. This in turn causes pain when urinating.
If you are prone to urinary tract infections, target these areas to help eliminate the outbreaks.
If you have bad urinary pain for over 48 hours, you should always consult your doctor as there could be more harmful infections that need proper medical treatment.
Drink Plenty of Fresh, Clean Water
The worst thing about bladder infections is that you have the urge to
urinate regularly, even when your bladder is not full. Drinking as much
water as possible throughout the day will help the painful burning sensation
caused when there is not enough urine. The larger the gush the less
the burn. This also helps to flush out whatever has caused the infection
in the first place.
Bicarb Soda
There are a few good over the counter products which help when you have
bladder infection, such as Ural. You can also make your own by dissolving
a teaspoon of Bicarb Soda in a glass of cold water. If you don't like
the taste, add a few drops of fresh lemon juice and bingo, you have
your own product at a fraction of the cost.
Cranberry Juice
Cranberry juice is not only great in helping clear an outbreak of infection
quickly, Cranberries are a great natural defense against bladder infections
by preventing bacteria from sticking to the walls of the bladder where
it can multiply and cause infection. Cranberry juice acts like a natural
antibiotic to the urinary system. You can buy cranberry supplements
from supermarkets and drug stores or make your own juice where fresh
cranberries are available.
It is recommended that women include Cranberries into their daily diet. For example, eat breakfast cereal that is high in fibre with added cranberries.
Lemon Juice
Squeeze half a lemon into a glass of cold water for a refreshing taste
and help with bladder infections. Do not add sugar and drink as much
as possible until urine burning decreases. Include fresh lemon into
your diet as it has similar properties to cranberries. Use lemon juice
as a low calorie salad dressing and a natural alternative in warding
off urinary tract infections.
Clean Sexual Intercourse
Sexual intercourse is a common cause of urinary tract infections because
the female anatomy can make women more prone to urinary tract infections.
During sexual intercourse, bacteria in the vaginal area is sometimes
massaged into the urethra by the motion of the hand or penis. Always
ensure that both you and your partners bodies are clean before engaging
in sex and sexual acts are also clean and safe.
Apple Cider Vinegar & Honey
Combine 2 tsp. apple cider vinegar with a tsp. of honey in a glass of
cold water. Take this 4 to 5 times per day until the bladder infection
has cleared.
Alkaseltzer
To a glass of water, add an Alka-Seltzer tablet. The aspirin in alkaseltzer
is an anti-pyruviate (anti-puss) which clears the bladder infection
up before it can cause too much damage.
If natural remedies to relieve pain of bladder infections do not work for you, always consider seeing your family doctor if the problem persists. The information on this web page should not be substituted for professional medical advice.
